Dad has been working so hard at thinking of better nicknames for Porter! I posted some of his previous ideas, so now we’ll add to the list:
Dennis Hopper
Hopalong Cassidy
Skippy (dad seems to favor this one)
IPA (because he’s so hoppy! That’s my fave)
On a sadder (but expected) note, Dr. Brown reported that his bone biopsy results came back positive for osteosarcoma. So, we forge ahead with plans for chemo. Dr. Brown also just returned from a conference where pain management was discussed. Apparently, they’ve determined that tramadol doesn’t stay in the system as long as they originally thought. We had been giving him his pills once every 12 hours, but now Dr. Brown is recommending a dose every 8 hours instead. We had been giving him 1 1/2 pills twice a day, but now we’ll be switching to one pill every 8 hours (same total of three pills per 24 hours). And hopefully, come next Tuesday, we won’t need any more pills at all!!
Aren’t we all funny with the nicknames for our furry ones? Greg has always called Zeus ‘Monkey’ and I usually resorted to ‘Goosey’. But since the surgery I find myself calling him Speedy. I did call him Bumpy once without thinking, but that made me cry b/c that’s what I called his brother (Angel Merlin) after his TPLO surgery.
Ah, but I digress. Good info on the Tramadol. Glad that Porter is doing well!
we vote for ‘trifecta’…. good that you are able to better manage the tramadol…it will be great when you are finished with it completely!! it’s a bummer that the osteosarcoma word was used, but you are carrying alot of good karma.. keep squeezing the best out of each and every day!

So sorry that dang word came up, but oh well you have a great Tripawd gang behind you and chemo hopefully will knock it flat.
Sending hugs

Baby mostly milks her ‘condition’ and loves to respond to ‘poor babelah’. I know it’s negative, but my little(ha) princess loves it!
Baby and I are going to meditate a good ‘chemo’s gotta work’ mantra for you, so no worries.
Hugs and Wags

So sorry to her the O word come up but I agree with everyone, you have great Karma and we are hopeful the Chemo knocks it out in no time. I like Charons suggestion of Trifecta also. We have a lot of nicknames for our furry kids but none of them are as cute as the ones listed here.
Good luck with the chemo.
